Just my voice and a guitar. It’s so simple. Just as blues is.

Mississippi blues, Hill Country blues, influences from greats like Johnny Shines, J.B. Lenoir, blues shouters too, meanwhile incorporating the person that I am. Sometimes changing pop and rock songs in blues, incorporating Arab and Celtic influences in my songs and bluesing up folk songs. But still, and always it’s got to be instantly recognizable as BLUES.

Blues is everywhere and has adopted all kinds of influences. Sometimes you can hear Arabic influences together with African rhythmes. Sometimes I change pop and rock songs in blues. I might incorporate Celtic or Dutch folk influences. (And that is not strange: David ' Honeyboy' Edwards and the Zangeres Zonder Naam were good friends and he called her the Dutch blues queen.) Maybe the authenticity of the blues consists in it's ability to incorporate different expressions of emotions.
